POPIA privacy notice.

1. Who we are

Amamfengu Lifestyle Group (Pty) Ltd ("Amamfengu", "we", "us") of 39 Somerset Rd, Green Point, Cape Town, 8005, South Africa is the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to respond to you and to deliver geospatial services:

• Contact details you submit through our contact form — name, email address, phone number and organisation.
• The content of the message or enquiry you send us, and the team member you asked it to reach.
• Basic technical data generated when you browse the site, such as pages viewed and approximate location derived from your IP address.
• Project data supplied under contract, including survey, imagery and field records collected during mapping engagements.

3. Why we process it

We process personal information for the following lawful purposes:

• To reply to enquiries and route them to the correct team member.
• To perform a contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering into one.
• To meet legal, regulatory and civil-aviation reporting obligations, including SACAA requirements for drone operations.
• To maintain the security, availability and integrity of our systems and data.

4. Aerial imagery and drone operations

Our drone and satellite work may incidentally capture images of people, vehicles or private property. We fly only under a valid mandate from a client or authority, we limit capture to the agreed area of interest, and we blur or exclude identifiable individuals in published outputs unless there is a lawful basis to retain them. Raw imagery is stored in access-controlled project archives and is never sold.

5. Consent and choice

Where we rely on your consent — for example, when you complete our contact form or ask to receive updates — you may withdraw that consent at any time by emailing info@amamfengu.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal, or processing we must continue for legal reasons.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with operators who process it on our behalf under written agreements — our website, database, storage and email providers — and with clients or authorities where a project mandate or the law requires it. Where information is hosted outside South Africa, we ensure the recipient is subject to protections comparable to POPIA.

7. Security safeguards

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk: encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls and role-based permissions on our systems, restricted administrator accounts, and routine review of who can access project data. If a security compromise affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by section 22 of POPIA.

8. Retention

Enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you unless a longer period is required by law or by an active engagement. Project deliverables and supporting data are retained for the period agreed in the relevant contract, after which they are deleted or de-identified.

9. Your rights as a data subject

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it.
• Ask us to correct, update or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive or out of date.
• Object to processing on reasonable grounds, and withdraw consent where consent is our basis.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

10. Information Officer and complaints

Requests and complaints may be sent to our Information Officer at info@amamfengu.com or to 39 Somerset Rd, Green Point, Cape Town, 8005. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Information Regulator (South Africa) at JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, or by email at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as our services or the law change. The revised version takes effect once published on this page.
